Update, July 2013.
Tragically, what seemed to be her dream come true - marriage to the father of her baby - turned out to be a nightmare. It was an illegal marriage induced by fraud with the goal to have her baby raised by the sister-in-law who cannot have babies of her own. However, Bora has been able to successfully gain total custody of her baby girl and leave. Moreover, though her parents tried to force her to give up her baby for adoption yet again, with much prayer, she has been able to persuade her parents to accept their grand-daughter. Nevertheless, since her parents cannot help to support her and her baby, Bora will be returning to the House of Peace and receiving support from WHC while working toward continuing her education and growing as a loving mother to her precious baby girl.
Update, June 2013: Bora gave birth to a healthy little girl. Please read her story below and continue to support her!! Thank you!!!
Bora (not her real name) is a brave young woman who has been praying that she would be able to keep and raise her baby.
Bora did not know about her pregnancy until she was already 8 months pregnant. Fearfully, she told her mother. Ashamed and furious that she could not force an abortion because it was so late in the pregnancy, her mother instead placed her in a shelter run by an adoption agency. She told her that she did not want to see her or hear from her until she gets rid of the baby by giving the baby up for adoption immediately after birth. Only then could Bora return home. No one is to know she was ever pregnant.
The father of the baby also told Bora that he did not want anything to do with the baby.
In the shelter, Bora witnessed a few of the young women go through severe depression and suicide attempts when their babies were put up for adoption. It was then she gained courage to follow her heart. She decided to keep and raise her baby on her own. But knowing that since her mother may come to the shelter as soon as the baby was born and force her to give her baby up, she secretly contacted us for help and found shelter at a Women's Hope Center temporary safe-house.
Though she is still praying and hoping that both her mother and father would accept her and her baby once the baby is born she has recently received one huge answer to her prayers. The father of the baby and his mother are wanting to work toward having them marry!
In the meantime, Bora has some immediate needs for her soon-to-be-born baby girl.
Will you encourage Bora and help support her and precious baby girl with some immediate needs? She will arrive any day now!
Thank-you.
